The most wonderful time of the year!!!!!

Yesterday afternoon Alex was feeling a bit better and I decided I couldn't wait any longer to put up my Christmas goodies (or treasures, as Alex called them). And while we did it we had Elf on and it was glorious! Alex even liked it! Alex reminded me alot of how I imagine myself to have been when I was little (and still am, I guess, if I'm being honest!) which is totally loving anything CHRISTMAS-Y. Everything we go out of the box she said, "[gasp] oh! it's soooo bootiful, mama" and then handled it ever so delicately even if it was a piece of tissue paper i used to wrap up an ornament! Ha! While I was putting our tree up (which might be running it's last show this year?) she kept saying, "are we ready to get started, mama? maybe I can just get started now" and before I could say anything I would find three ornaments on the same branch. Some of the decorations I was instructed to put back into the box which would be returned to the garage. [All of decorations she was not a fan of, much to my relief, I was not either. In fact I had kept ahold of them specifically because I thought my kids might like them some day, not because I really liked them (i.e. bear type angel thing that is supposed to be a tree topper and kissing bears from Hallmark, etc.....maybe she just has an aversion to bears?)].

We were all in a very festive mood last night! Tim and I settled in to watch a movie with the tree lights on and all my Christmas goodies around and it was awesome! Did I mention I love Christmas?!

I get to spend the day at work today and tomorrow. Joy. My days here are ending. While I'll miss some aspects (not many) overall I am very READY to move on.

Any good Christmas movie suggestions?

I am so jealous right now! We aren't even putting up our Christmas decorations this year since we won't be home until after New Year and it's killing me. I love putting up the decorations, but I'm sure Mackenzie would be into everything.

Christmas Vacation is always a good movie to watch and I've heard that Fred Claus is coming out soon.

That is too funny because at the last minute we put all our stuff up last night as well! Maizie was beyond excited! Can't wait to see pictures. Mostly, I am thrilled you guys will be here for Christmas.

We just put up our decorations last night too! I LOVE Christmas, I think I am as obsessed as you are, if not more so. I love this time of year, it's so happy and joyful and just exciting! I love all of the christmas lights up and the decorations and everyone getting excited for the holidays. And Christmas music? Already on non-stop. I'm so glad Alex shares in your love of the holidays!

Christmas Vacation is definitely the best. I also love the Holiday, I could put that movie on repeat even if it is a little cheesy. Miracle on 34th street is a classic. Last year my sister bought me the "Christmas Classics" box set, which is all of the claymation classics (like Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, with Abominable Snowman and all that). You can get it at any store now. Did you ever see "Santa Claus: The Movie"? It was my favorite when we were kids, with John Lithgow? There is an entire site dedicated to Christmas movies (http://www.christmasmovies.us/index.html), check it out!

I had a dream over the weekend that I checked my blog and you had left this message:
"sorry it took so long to reply. We had a baby girl, her name is Kylie Coo." Literally, I had a dream you named your little girl Kylie COO!!! weird, I know. by the way, my track record is pretty good at dreaming people are pregnant before they announce something...! Merry Christmas!
