Breakfast: eggs, and toast, and ice cream, So WHAT!
I can't contain it any longer and have considered the pros and cons of waiting to share it or just going for it and I am opting for the latter....Tim and I are going to have another PEANUT! Only a little over one month in and I know you always hear it's best to wait it out the first three months and then share the news, but I look at it this way, If something DID happen (God forbid) then I would want those close to me to know, and while this is a more public way or sharing the news I know it will reach those of you I'm close to and those I don't get to talk to often but miss like heck! Okay, so that being said, I will have my confirmation Dr visit March 2 so then it will really be official. I guess it explains the lack of brainpower these past few weeks!

It has also become my personal mission (or the new person's mission) to eat everything I see whenever I want. The funny part is the babe is really only the size of a piece of bird seed right now and yet I'm already gaining weight! Ha! I guess I see it as the last time I'll be able to eat whatever I want and not really care. I think I need to get it together, however, or the taking it off part will take way longer than the putting it on part! But it's sure a fun process! I just keep telling Tim (with every wide eyed look I get after nearly eating half gallon of ice cream in one evening, or not stopping eating almost all day) that I have a plan! And the nausea part hasn't even really had a chance to set in yet, so that might slow me down...but I'm not counting on it!
Maybe that's why I gained over 50lbs with Alex! HA!
Tim and I finally got our basement finished and it is awesome! We love hanging out down there now with the girl and the best part is, when it's trashed down there I can just walk up the stairs, close the door and wha-la! The mess is out of sight! There's a very cozy guest room and bathroom down there for visitors so plan a trip and come visit SOON!!!! Tim's parents were the first to enjoy it as they stayed over last night and took the girl home with them for a couple days. I don't quite know what to do with myself when she's not around..what did I do with my time before her? I have no idea! Tim and I are going on a date tonight-- Some much overdue quality time...can't wait!!! (But I miss that girl like crazy already!!!! It's way harder on me than her!)
That's all the news I have for today! Off to shower and take my time getting ready! I know!
----the luxury of free time/alone time/kid-free time!
I can't believe we're having another one of these amazing babes! Life is sweet :) I just hope everything goes smoothly and healthfully.

Where oh where have I set my brain?...
The last few days I've noticed an increase my forgetfulness, ditziness, and idiot moments. Here are just a few examples to illustrate that I am, indeed, losing my mind---these are just the ones I can remember....there are so many!:
1. I constantly walk into rooms with a clear purpose only to make it to that room and forget completely what I so urgently needed in said room. Frustrating.
2. I was brusing my teeth and when I was finished, I reached over turned the light off, put my toothbrush away and walked out....walked back in thinking something seemed not quite right...I forgot to turn off the faucet and rinse my toothbrush.
3. The other day while I was meeting with a new patient I tried THREE times to write the correct date on my paperwork in the same spot. My brain literally could not get it together and I wrote the following attempts: 13/09 (not quite); 2 (long pause thinking what to put next)/08; oops, wrong again, 2/13/09 (oh, so close, good order, but wrong date! And this was my last patient of the day, I had been successfully writing the correct date all day and then suddenly I lacked all capabilities to do so)
4. Tim and I went out with some friends for dinner (a rare event). While we know them pretty well I am still getting to know them better each time we go out. Anyway, Tim was talking about someone he use to work with and he referred to him as Chinese. I hit him (gently of course) and said, "Tim, you're not supposed to call them that! It's not PC." Tim looked at me and said, "Melissa, he's from China, he is Chinese. It's what he is. LIke we are American." Right. Oops, I was thinking of the term "Oriental" and that being incorrect. Our friends were nice enough to pretend it was a common mistake...right. They were biting their tongues hard, I'm sure!
5. I was spelling a word to Tim in front of Alex, a common word at that. A word, lets say you might have learned to spell in first grade and were probably reading it in kindergarten. I don't remember the exact word (imagine that) but it was like the word ice cream or something. And instead of remembering that 'ea' makes a long e sound, I reverted back to phenetical spelling (circa kindergarten/first grade) and spelled it with two e's. And didn't realize I spelled it totally wrong until Tim was still staring at me probably wondering if I really had lost my brain or wondering if I had been drinking all day.
6. The other morning before I left for work I made at least six consecutive trips up and down my stairs all with the same goal (to get my cell phone I left in the bathroom) but left the upstairs the first five times without it. In the brief moments I would make it up the stairs I would get side tracked and do something else and completely forget that the only reason I kept going up there was to get the darn phone. For example, I brought down some dirty dishes (no phone); I walked into Alex's room and stood for a moment, looked around, put some clothes in her laundry basket and walked out and went back down stairs(still no phone), went back up got sucked into the news on the radio that I leave on for Cooper, sat on the bed for a second, remembered I needed to put on deodorant and went back downstairs (still no phone, and I even made it into the correct room with the phone this time...at least I was getting warmer)...the wasted trips go on.
Perhaps I will get it together this week. I hope. I don't really have the luxury to be forgetful with the sort of job I have. Perhaps tomorrow I will wake up and my brain will be back. I will keep you loyal (two) readers posted.
