Boots to bed, feeling better, yoga fun, and it's 3am!

As I was sitting at my computer at work, desperately thinking of anything and everything I could be looking up on the internet to hold my interest and keep me awake (and trying to hold off from watching a tv show online) it dawned on me I haven't blogged in a long time. I have been promising to blog for some time now and just have been neglecting my duties. Unfortunatley I don't have access to any pics I'd like to post so I'll promise to post them later. I have some really cute ones of the girl. I know you were all hoping that I meant I would be posting pictures of myself, but no, just of the bean. ;)

Alex has been getting into doing a yoga video my sister got her for Christmas. She mostly likes final relaxation pose the best and calls it "na night". For those of you non-yoga enthusiasts, final relaxation is just where you lay on your back really still and relax and usually, if there is an instructor they say all sorts of soothing and nice things to make you feel calm and relaxed. She actually lays there the whole time. And the best part is when I do it and lay next to her, she adjusts my body like the instructor on the video does to the little kids on the video. She takes great care in spreading my feet apart just so and making sure my hands are in their propper places, and if i lift my head up she would say, "down mamma" and point to the ground. I do have some cute pics of this newly found fun activity that I will post. Of course, later when I tried to do my yoga video, she was not into being so helpful. She kept saying, "hold you, mamma" (which is what she says when she wants ME to hold HER). Needless to say I decided to hold off on yoga time for mamma until she was asleep or at school.

The other night she woke up crying rather loudly. SOme cries we let pass because we know she is doing them in her sleep, but this time I knew she was awake. So, I venture in to her room expecting her to be either a. wet, b. scared, or c. sick--again...well, I was wrong on all guesses. She actually wanted to wear her boots in bed. She kept telling me, "put boots on mamma" and pointing to her feet, and in between tears and crying she would say her feet hurt and she needed her boots on. I tried to tell her slippers were the next best thing, but she already had them on and was not buying it. SHE tried to get me to then agree to shoes, her tennis shoes. But I still couldn't give in to that. I did consider both the boots and the shoes for a brief second but knew I would be opening a battle for every night there after. Finally we agreed on purple striped socks. They did the trick. Once they were on, she was happy and went back to sleep. What a goof! She must have been dreaming about her boots. She does adore them!

I should report that we are all feeling better finally! After an entire week off for all of us, we are back in good health and good spirits. Alex finally went back to school today (yesterday technically, since it's 3am), I expect her to have another cold within the week :) That's just the way it goes! On a positive and really super exciting note for me, Tim and I decided that I will start working part time in September. I am going to sign up for a weekend program and work weekends only for 6 months. We decided we don't do anything on the weekends in the winter anyway, and it will free up the whole week for me to get stuff done at the house, visit family, cook---yes, i said cook, and spend time with my girl. We won't have her in day care anymore, at least not if it's possible. I can not wait! The best part is I will be making just as much if not more money than I am now with the the benefits the weekend plan offers and it's only for 6 months. So as soon as March rolls around, I will probably just go to part time during the week and some weekends, of course. Anyway, that;s the most exciting news I have to share. Everything else is basically same ol' thing. Waiting for winter to pass, feeling homesick for the Fort, and working a night shift tonight. Blah! I actually dont' mind them terribly, it's just they can get rather dull I suppose...sometimes anyway, and of course now I've jinxed myself and tomorrow night all hell will break loose! Fingers crossed that doesn't happen!

Oh, and Valentines Day is today! Happy Heart day to all my friends and fam! I love you all! Hopefully I will enjoy the majority of the day sleeping, oh and indulging in a little McDonalds Breakfast, and quick stop at Target to get a heart day surprise for my girl, THEN I'll be off to sleepy land :)

Hi Melissa! Can't wait to see new pics of Alex. I got a new issue of Parents magazine in the mail, and there is a little girl on the cover that reminds me of your bean. Maybe you should send her pics in and she can be a cover girl too.

I gotta know what the yoga video is called! Sounds like a fun activity for Daphne. She already does downward facing dog all the time.

Boots to bed cracks me up. What a funny little girl!

Happy Valentine's Day to you and Foo!

Great post, thanks for the update and the great stories! Can't wait to see pictures of the Yoga fun, that is so cute. I want to know the name of it too, that would be a great gift for my nieces.

That's so exciting about work! I'm happy for you guys that you can make that work because it will be awesome for you to be able to have time to get all of that stuff done and spend time with the bean. I worry about working full time when I have kids down the road.

Can't wait for pics!

oh, and the yoga video is Yoga Kids, and there are several different ones. I couldn't find the one my sister got her. The one she got me is VHS and has little things that come with it, cube, and floating fringies as the instructor calls it. i ordered another one with the same instructor. if you search yoga kids on amazon three or four different ones come up. i will let you know how i like the new one. i think i got the abc one.

I want to do yoga with Mackenzie.

I want you to post some new pictures.

I want, I want, I want. That seems to be all I hear at school lately so I figured it was my turn. Thanks for letting me vent on your blog, but I do really want new pictures.
