it's about damn time!

so, since it's been FOREVER since an update (don't i begin all my posts with that now?) i thought it was time for a new one.

I officially survived my first day at work alone as a true blue nurse! It went really well. I had a pretty easy patient assignment for which i was grateful and i was only there 8 hours which is always a treat! I did manage to splatter myself with vegetable soup, all over my khaki scrub pants and pink t-shirt! yes, what a nice message to send my kiddo patients! it looked like i was busy splattering blood and torturing patients. Owell, I'm sure there are interesting stories awaiting me in the oh so near future!

i really am feeling uninspired when it comes to blogging lately. so, if any of you MANY readers has some inspiration please pass it on. i like the tag things, so much so i've created my own. enjoy!

Favorite sound?
Rain on a fall or spring day, a day where I’m not working, and I’m alone in a room and I can just sit and just be for a few minutes of total peace and gratitude for the simple things in life

….movie? Why?
I have always hated this question. My answer would probably change on any given day, but I always like to hear others favorites. Today I would have to say my favorite movie is Elf. I can’t help it. It brings me incredible joy and I still laugh it. And I like that it’s a Christmas movie, I get to enjoy it every year during my favorite time of year!

….childhood memory?
Getting tucked in by my parents at night, having my dad carry me up over his shoulder and tucking me in or my mom chasing me up the stairs pinching my bum and then tucking the covers in tightly around me! It was bliss! I now do both those things with Alex…J I wish I could still do that! And I long for that bedtime as well!

….childhood crush?
Michael Jackson. I remember looking at his record and folding out the nice layout of him in his white leather ensemble. I wanted to marry him in a serious way…him or David Copperfield. I touched his knee once at a live show and I couldn’t fall asleep that night because I was so in love!

….adult crush? Even if you’re married, come on, we all know we all have crushes!!
Vince Vaughn….ok, and Brad Pitt. I dream about him like he is an every day presence in my life! Sick. I try not to even watch him on TV or on movies.

….indulgences?
picking up Alex out of her bed while she’s sleeping and holding her and just taking in the amazing blessing in my arms that has completely touched my life in a way you can’t know until you’re a mom….ok, and ice cream…and wine J preferably both in the same night! What a treat!

…biggest irrational fear?
That Alex has some rare disease that no one knows about…so much a fear that I just recently insisted she have a CBC blood test done at her recent Dr. appt. Tim had to explain where I work and how crazy I am now! Ha!....also, being buried alive, I can’t imagine the fear…I panic just thinking of it.


Would you rather…
……eat one small roach or 100 ants? I think I’d have to go with the ants…I don’t know though. Yuck!

…… compulsively toot in front of others or make loud siren noises with your mouth in the middle of conversations with others without explaining or saying excuse me after either act?
Hmmmm…this one really had me puzzled. They both are extremely uncomfortable…I guess the siren thing. Only because tooting in public is a mortifying thought for me.

…….have ALL your walls painted FUSCIA and baby poop green for five years or live in a tent for three months and have to continue with your daily lives? I’d definitely go for the tent for three. I could not function in paint colors such as those for five years. And who knows, a new found appreciation for the good life would be found while living in a tent.


…….have your family missing for one year but returned unharmed, healthy, and happy, life returns to normal, or have to go without seeing them for 3 years but you know where they are you just can’t talk to them or see them? I might have to go with the one year thing. I can’t imagine the torture one would endure but at the same time I don’t think I could manage not seeing them for three years! I don’t know though…I guess it’s an easier question to answer knowing ahead of time they would be returned unharmed, no harm done, etc…I’ll have to ponder this one some more
