ok, these aren't the stories that i was going to post that i mentioned in the post i posted a few minutes ago. I was reminded of these while catching up on Brooke's blog so I thought i'd share a few funny memories of my dear friend Jac :)
Hope you don't mind me sharing these, Jac! but they made me giggle out loud remembering them so i thought they might, at least, make you laugh, too!
Jac and I were inseperable from high school through college so we have a good lot of funny memories. She's notorious for saying the wrong word for something or just not quite getting something as quickly as someone else might [which, hey, who doesn't do that sometimes, right? she's no dummy, just sometimes speaks more quickly than she thinks]
When we were in high school she was talking on the phone to a boy she was starting to date/like etc. He asked her if she liked Brown Sugar [a cd title by d'angelo] which was pretty popular at the time. Any way, I think they were talking about music or something and then he asked her this, "So, you like Brown Sugar?". And Jacque, probably thinking, hmm, that's a strange questions, answered it anyway, "well, it's ok, but i like white sugar more" or something like that. Even as I type this I can't stop laughing! Maybe you have to know Jac for this to be funny but I think even if you don't know her you can apprectiate it and it will remind you of someone else or even of yourself.
Next story happened when we were in college, sitting in our dorm room. I don't remember the context or what exactly we were talking about but it had to do with animals and saving one or adopting one or something else and she said, "Do you think we should take it to the Human shelter?" meaning to say humane society OR animal shelter but instead infused the two together and dropped the 'e' on humane! ha! too funny!
She's also been known to ask me once [in college] if you spell Phoenix with an 'x' or a 'z'. :)
Ok, that's all I got. Hope I didn't embarrass you too much, Jac.

Yaaaaaaaaaay!!! I just wrote Marla today asking if everything was alright with you and if not, would she please email me. GLad to find that all is well and you haven't gone into some witness protection program or something equally detrimental to your blog. My mom was even starting to be concerned! I definitely have a friend that your stories remind of. Remember when SARS was on all the news stations for a month or more? My former roomy and I were watching the news one day and they mentioned something about it and she was like, "WHAT?!!! Why don't they TELL people about this sooner?" When actually it had been in the news for quite awhile, and could have been considered old news. Another friend of mine mentioned something about the "squat" team once in conversation. Apparently all her life she thought the SWAT team was actually the "SQUAT" team because of how they squat down and draw their weapons :) I'm sure people could tell the same stories about me, but I can't think of any right now. Glad you're back! Can't wait to see the video and pictures of Alex.
Yes, glad to have you back! Although I have to say I am a terrible friend because I didn't even know you were gone :) I was out of town too and busy and just got back on. Glad you're all feeling better and look forward to the videos. Are you going to the Fort this weekend for the miller's party??
I was laughing out loud reading those stories! Good times! I can just picture Jac during these conversations and I remember you telling us the story of the Human Shelter. We were probably sitting outside good old Foster dorms.
sigh... Foster dorms.....
And I do remember all those... and no fear.. i am not embarrassed, just a little sad that I still ask and say those stupid things till this day. Just ask Kyle. He does not believe me that i was a Journalism major in college! Do you remember the time that I asked if the morning started at 12 or 12:30? Jeesch!!! How did i get through college? Oh, right... I barely did! He! Thanks for the memories!!! Love you, jac
Where were you? Was it your Vegas trip?
Jac has always been adorable. I love the brown sugar one. I about spit out my drink reading that. I can picture Jac saying that so clearly.
Amen, sister! (To your comment on my post :)
Are you or any of your family near Plymouth, IN by any chance?

Go all the way to the bottom of my blog page and click on the little icon that says SIGHTMETER. I think you can sign up through that link for your own sitemeter. It's cool, you can click on the world map and it shows you where people are that are reading your blog, and other stuff too, but that's my favorite.
