So, I guess socks are a running theme when it comes to my Grandpa (see previous post). Anyway, when he died I got three pairs of his socks and a hat I technically stole from his house when I was there visiting with my step-grandma after he passed. I treasure the socks to pieces! I wore them every test day during nursing school and I wear them now on days I"m feeling lonely/homesick or that I may need a little extra 'help'...especially some work days. I am wearing them today actually, and today has been such a smooth and peaceful day at work I'm considering NEVER taking them off except, of course, to wash them. I love having little things in life, little material possessions that are worthless monetarily but mean SO much to the heart. Do you have any special 'worthless' objects that get you through rough days or bring a warm fuzzy to your thoughts? I'd love to hear about them!

No, I don't. At least not that I can think of, which probably means I don't. That stinks. I need to find something. I look at old photos a lot. But nothing as cool as socks, I love that. I also love that you are still the type of person to kill a spider and then pray about it and ask for forgiveness. That is exactly how I remember you. This is also why I was able to guilt you into letting me play with the good Barbies when we were little. Glad you're having a nice day. And I plan on posting about my pancakes later today...
great! can't wait to hear abot the 'cakes! that is so true about the guilt and barbie phenomenon! i guess some things never change! ha! or maybe i have that guilt BECAUSE of you!? ha! kidding!
You are lucky. I did not get one thing that was Grandpa F's. Bummer. I would cherish those socks too. Do you take one off of them at night to regualte your body temp too. He was such a sweetheart. Remember how he always took us aside and gave us two dollar bills. I do miss him.
i remember the money thing! only i think he moved on to 10s and 20s! dad use to do that too :) and mom too :) i like that theme in our familiy, secret money giving :) i do wear the socks to bed sometimes, well, one of them that is.
i charish my wife :) , who probably isn't worth much money.
foo, you're too funny! :) and The husband recommended I put in a disclaimer...Those are not my actual socks, nor are they my feet. He was confused and thought they were. They are not. though the socks do look a bit similar, in fact.
I was just thinking today how it's nice to be back in touch with you, "talking" via blogging. I think you (and possibly my mom :) are my most consistent readers/responders. I love getting your comments, so thanks!
And thanks also for clearing up the sock mystery. I did wonder if those were the ACTUAL socks, or just a visual aide. I feel better knowing now.
